I grew up in SE Texas fishing for bass, panfish and catfish in freshwater and redfish, specs, drum, etc. in saltwater.
Now I live in SE Portland, Ore. and I'm itchin' to get out there, but it's been hard to break away from other commitments in life.
I really need to get a small boat! j|___/

There is a lot of water down in Texas.
My best times were had on small ponds and lakes, 20 acres or less.
I love being in an isolated area, surrounded by nature's beauty, with no unnatural sounds, quietly stalking the sleepy bass on a hot summer day, with some cold beer, and some good stuff too. Oh, yea. That's what I like.

Usually we fish for bass during the summer, and in June the bluegill are bedding making for some good flyin. Fall we have some awesome salmon runs.

Awesome 'Taug Trevor. My personal best is about 15lbs.
I'm lucky enough to live on Cape Cod, where I can catch everything from huge Stripers and Blues to Tuna and Sharks offshore.
I also do quite a bit of Freshwater fishing as well. I go after Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass mostly but I also chase Northern's and Trout or Salmon sometimes too.

The family and I are going to a small trout lake in the mountains to camp.
My 4 1/2 year old daughter and I are very excited about taking some rainbows, but neither of us has ever fished for them.
I got her some powerbait nuggets and I got myself some spinners and spoons.
This will be a small(60ac), shallow (2-16'), heavily fished, stocked lake in middle early summer.
Any tips for getting maybe one or two?
Oh yea, we'll be bank fishing too.

Fishing either at dawn or after the sun goes down will give you your best chance of landing some decent Trout. The powerbait works great on the Trout around here so I expect it would be a good choice for you as well. I don't know what kind of fishing gear you'll be taking with you but I'd use the lightest line possible.

No problem. One question. Where exactly will you be fishing?

Well, we'll be camping on Trillium Lake on this trip, so we'll probably fish there. We only have one night.
We are going to camp a coupla weeks later at Still Creek for two nights. This will be in the same general area.
There are several alpine lakes and creeks in this area, so we may explore on the second trip.
Timothy Lake will be a potential target.
