I've lost 10 pounds! YAY! I want to lose 2 more pounds by the end of the year. I have more than enough time. I want to start the New Year with my diet and exercise routine already in place and my new year's resolution will be to maintain my program. I'm so excited! I hope everyone is doing well too. =)

Still exercising but not at much because the baby's been sick and it's too cold to take her in the jogger. Also injured my shoulder, so have to hold off on upper body stuff.

at least you still do it. I just look out the window on cold days like this and want to snuggle up warm - and comfort eat!

Working out has become such a habit that I feel completely guilty when I don't. So, I haven't gone today... yet. I hope to make it to the gym this afternoon when I take the kids to their swim practice. The baby can't fall asleep in the car. I might be out of luck there.

I ran 2.4 miles yesterday (continuously)! WOO HOO! We actually ran more but walked up The Big Hill. That's the last hurdle. The 2.4 miles ends at the base of The Big Hill. I also started again with crunches and push ups. =)

If you haven't run before or if it's been a while, this is the plan that I started out with Couch Potato to 5K.

There's also a runners group that Javier created if you need advice or have any running related questions. Hi Javier =)

hi hesh - I feel guilty that you are the only one contributing to this group! I can barely run more than 50 yards before getting out of breath, yet each year (since I turned a significant age) I swear that "next year" I'm going to take part in the London Marathon.
I would love to, and one day (maybe the next significant b/day) I will ... maybe..

Anyway, good for you. I know you do well.

Don't feel guilty! Please! That's the last thing I want. I would love others to contribute, but in the meantime, it's sort of like a blog for me. At least there are still members. =)

For the past two weeks, I've walked/ran a 5k six days of the week--pushing myself on the weekdays. I've added running up a hill and a half. We always go the same route, and I said I would run when it was downhill and shady, but I'm doing more running than walking now. Since the weather turned, I have way more energy. I can really feel it in the back of my legs. My partners in crime should be here any minute--Doni & Rosmery. Rosmery recently joined us. A couple of years ago, we ran a 5k and 8k together. I'm glad those two get along also. Okay, better stretch a little. =)

Working out makes me feel stronger. My cardio has really improved. Now I just have to start lifting.

I challenged myself n the spring to run in a 5K this fall iand just reread my goal. My how time flies, my target date is in 27 days. Holy shit! I've stepped up the workouts, but I still don't know if I can "run" (I put run in quotes because I don't know if what I do really qualifies as running) the whole way. There are a few hills that totally kick my ass. I decided to have "helene's fun run" instead of actually entering a race. This should be fun. Maybe it'll make a difference when I'm not pushing the stroller, but I kind of doubt it. So, I walked/ran 4 times already this week, and I'm going tomorrow too. I'm feeling it in my feet and back. It's a good kind of sore. Okay, wish me luck because I'm going to need it! =)
