One of the charming little things about Downtown Greenville, Mice on Main, has a new and updated hints list. It looks great!

This is a week or two late, but another absolutely wonderful thing I love about Greenville....the festivals! This photo was taken during this year's Fall for Greenville festival:

I am torn between telling the Virb world the truth, that Greenville SC is wonderful place to live, and starting vicious, fictitious rumors about escalating crime rates, gridlock, soaring costs of living, etc. in order that we can discourage growth and keep this little corner of paradise for ourselves.....I know, very selfish, but we either need to hire the world's best city planners or start building a massive wall....hehehe.....I don't really want to isolate our community, but I also don't want it to be ruined by poorly planned growth until it becomes a "former wonderful place to live".

I don't suspect we'll ever be anything like Atlanta...or even Charlotte, but there is something to be said for some of the initiatives that Charlotte has taken, especially with respect to mass transit. In my view, a good mass transit system is the ONLY thing Greenville is lacking.

Another thing that makes Greenville such a great place to live (for me, at least) is baseball. This photo was taken at West End Field during an April 22nd game between the Greenville Drive and the Asheville Tourists:

One of the things that makes Greenville such a great place to live (and play): Moonlight Movies (on Wednesdays in May and September) at the Dow Amphitheatre behind the Peace Center for the Performing Arts. This photo was taken during the May 30th showing of "Superman," the last movie of the Spring 2007 Season:
