Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson likes to think that the people that are fans of his work are "Outsiders" like himself.

So this is a place for those who love the unique trademarks of the director Wesley Wales Anderson.

Uses overhead camera angles to show tabletop visuals, such as books or documents, that effectively provide an added comedic payoff.

Has ended all his movies with a slow-motion shot

Just about the entire soundtrack in all of his movies is British music from the 1960s and 1970s (such as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, etc.)

Frequently casts Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Bill Murray, Kumar Pallana, Dipak Pallana, Brian Tenenbaum, Stephen Dignan, Jason Schwartzman and Anjelica Huston.

Likes to shoot with extremely wide-angle anamorphic lenses that exhibit considerable barrel distortion.

Frequently uses a take/double take technique where he will show a character/action, quickly pan to another character/action, then pan back, usually with handheld camera.

His Movies:

1. The Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) (pre-production)

2. The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
3. Hotel Chevalier (2007)
4. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004)
5. The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
6. Rushmore (1998)
7. Bottle Rocket (1996)
8. Bottle Rocket (1994)

Finally saw Darjeeling, loved it, want to see it again! The art direction coupled with the setting in India makes this Anderson's most aesthetically-pleasing film to date, in my opinion.

I have an unhealthy affection for Wes Anderson and his work. I've even watched that damn Amex commercial 100 times. "Can you do a 357 with bayonet?"
