Don't talk to me about computers..

but there isn't an 'any' key...

A group for those of you, like me, who feel intimidated by all of those really clever computer geeks (or just those clever people who understand all about computers).
If you've ever felt like you are the only person remaining on this planet (or this site at least) who hasn't a clue what to do when you want to change your profile or add a link, make a word appear in bold type - I do know that but had to ask - or anything which the rest of 'them' make seem like childsplay.
Join if you are using an ancient PC, if you use IE (or if you had to look up what those two initials stood for), if your computer takes forever to start up, or if you've ever ended up in tears of frustration when trying to follow supposedly 'simple' instructions. If, when told to 'close all windows' you head for the window and not the computer (I may be joking slightly here but really, it's just one step away), then this is the place for you.

Treat this as a haven or escape from computer codes and computer-speak. You may learn something here but more likely you'll just find out that there are actually more people on here who don't understand than you thought.

I'm so frustrated. He finally switched out computers, but now any project that I was previously working on I cannot continue because I don't know how to make it point in the right place. ARGHHHH! Hours....days.....weeks probably...worth of work...all down the drain. He'll probably be able to fix it, but right now I'm just so mad/annoyed/sad. I don't want to go through all those photos again and upload all that video etc. Blah. Oh well. I'm just complaining. =(

I'll do that for you Lisa - but it'll come through as the hyperlink and bold etc - what you'll need to then do is click on 'reply' as if you are going to and you'll see the way the links are made on the text ... if that makes sense. Give me 5 minutes...

The Virb community is generally more tech-savvy... even you are not as bad as you think! Remember, you're on Virb and Flickr and that makes you much better than a lot of people. Speaking of which, how did you find Virb?

Admitting one's problem is the first step to getting better. I admit it...I'm technology-challenged. Anytime I have to call tech-support with a computer-related problem...it's positively painful. Of course...that could have something to do with the fact that my call is routed to a call-center in India...where the person can barely speak English.

Yeah...I know...contradiction in terms. I so WANT to be tech-savvy! I do try my very best to learn as much as possible. I've actually come worlds away from where I was a couple of years ago though.

- and you were the one who taught me the magic of bold and italic scripts so you really don't belong here! (I'd have an honorary membership if virb had thought of it, but they've not, so be glad you didn't need to join (again - if you are reading this as you're not a member...)
