Don't get caught by the authorities. All ways tell someone else where your going and about the time you'll be back. This is so they know where to find your body. Long pants, long sleeve shirt, gloves and a hat. I frequent a lot of tannery's, so I try to protect my self from the lead, chromium, and mercury dust from getting in my hair or on my skin. So do some research on the place your visiting, you may find some cool facts, hazmat info, or placement of cool machinery within the building. Although I have to tell you, these kinds of photos (abandoned building and such) are way over done. It's hard to make your own, there's a million of these photos out there. I indulge my self but its more for the experience then the photos.

thanks for the advice. I have a flashlight, some police strength mace, a knife, of course my camera(s), heavy soled boots, etc. i have been in a few buildings others have been in already, more of the easy ones to get into in the city. I am merely taking pictures for my own enjoyment. I never know when I will find a gem. I am more curios to hear stories or advice, of what to do when you run into cops or violent homeless people or drug addicts.
