Hiya -
I saw DM live on the SOFAD tour of Australia in the mid-90s. They basically played the whole album... Ridiculously awesome. I have to say though that any live stuff i have seen of them recently has been most disappointing. I bought the Anton Corbijn "One Night In Paris" DVD, and it seemed really lacklustre.
Does anyone know if Recoil ever played live? I thought Liquid was fantastic.
Cheers,
Nick

okay everyone, i'm sorry. i feel that i am failing as the moderator. i got in trouble at my job for being on virb too much a few weeks ago, so i have been trying to lay low a bit. nevertheless, i still love and believe in virb, and we definitely have a cool group going on here. so any of you who want to help me keep things fun and fascinating here, feel free. random dm-related topics. fun facts. rare videos. not-so-rare videos. whatever. let's have fun with it.

New topic, my lovely violators... what are some of your favorite pieces of depeche mode lyric? . you can only pick one at a time, and you have to limit yourselves to 4 lies or less from the song/lyrics. then if you want you can put a link to the music video for that particular song. i'll start it off:

Mr. Jason E. Lectric says:
some of my favorite lyrics come from But Not Tonight (click to see the video)
Just for a day on a day like today
I'll get away from this constant debauchery
The wind in my hair makes me so aware
How good it is to live tonight

I know it's kind of morbid but I always loved the lyrics from Blasphemous Rumours (live performance video) on Some Great Reward...
I dont want to start any blasphemous rumours
But I think that gods got a sick sense of humor
And when I die I expect to find him laughing

Yeah, I like all the lyrics of Halo too, but you said we could only list 4 lines...
I actually had a hard time choosing between the chorus and
Bring your chains
Your lips of tragedy
And fall into my arms
(Oh, and Jenna Elfman is in the video :D )

Steph G says:
I love lots of songs that aren't lyrically as great as they are musically, but I always loved the lines from "Dream On":
Hey you pale and sickly child
You're death and living reconciled...
The chorus is really good too.
Sigh.

From my favourite DM track which needs no introduction.
Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world

It was very hard to choose 'caulse I love the whole song, but this part is one of my favorite:
I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and with every breath
Someone who'll help me see things in a different light
