I am a Melbourne based producer who has lived in Zimbabwe for much of my life. I love all sorts of music, e.g. dub, reggae, 70s rock, African music both traditional and contemporary, blue grass (:D), dubstep, drum'n'bass and much more. A lot of my taste has been influenced by my parents. I took my first independent musical steps listening to the Chemical Brothers (back in the day), the Prodigy , and various forms of what I now call doof. Around 2000 I heard Roni Size Reprazent's "Ballet Dance", which I found absolutely incredible. It was jazzy, funky, funny, and it had the wonderful rolling drums and bass. That's what got me into drum'n'bass and also into making computer music.
Something else which I got into at that time was Capoeira, that has been my passion ever since. Capoeira is what started me playing drums, the berimbau, and generally thinking about rhythms, how they work and how to play them. It has also shown me the joy of human expression, and it has grown me as an individual and as part of a group.
Now I am on the dubside. Meow.
