I guess it is time I update this. My name is Julie. I am Irish and Portuguese. Not that it really matters, because really I am just an American. I'm really white. I realized this yesterday when I was getting ready for work. Everything I had on was from the gap. Because I wear professional clothes to work. And Billy Joel was playing on my computer. Does it get whiter than that? I really love Billy Joel. Probably more than any 23 year old girl should. I even have "we didn't start the fire" memorized. It seems like every year I just keep getting more and more comfortable with who I am. It is pretty great. I live in the middle east. Muslims really dislike me so that is kind of fun. I like to make fun of them. But in an odd way, I feel like I have their back. I can talk shit about them but you can't. My friends are the most important thing in the world to me. Especially my heterolifemate, Linda. I miss her dearly. I have two nephews who, though I barely see, have shown me what true love is. My father is dead. My mother is barely hanging on to a sane life due to numerous strokes. I have one sister, and one who died last year. Life has pretty much fucked me over every chance it has gotten. But I go on. There is no other choice. I make the best of things. I guess that is my take on life.
I enjoy dive bars, impromptu dance parties, Europe, Indian food, expensive wine, cheap wine, toaster ovens, getting new stamps in my passport, telling people its ok if you blow a snot bubble, and a good AIM conversation (aim = jew hates you).
I support Barack Obama for President. In fact, he is the most inspirational person I have ever encountered. Not that I have met him. I really thought I would win the dinner with him that was up for grabs a couple weeks ago, but I didn't. :(. Please give him a chance and find out what he has planned.
