Looks like we're coming down the home stretch. This morning we had a pretty early call to head out to the APOD Kuwait to catch yet another C-130, this time to Bahrain. Actually, Alan was able to have a nice homecoming with the doctor and nurse who took care of him back at the beginning of the tour - you remember, the Kuwaiti Crud (or the military term - NVD). They were psyched to see him looking so well, and really appreciated him stopping by to say thanks.
Then, probably the worse C-130 flight we've taken. Thankfully it was only about 40 minutes, because it was packed with about 45 people (that's a lot for a cargo plane), and we were squeezed in there pretty well. Luckily, that's our last C-130 flight for this tour.
We landed in Bahrain and we're met by Daniel Cook, the guy who actually books the talent tours for SW Asia - he's the one who routed our tour over here. We cleared immigration and headed to the hotel, right in downtown and next to the base. Then, finally a righteous Thai meal - everyone was very happy. Back to the hotel for a drink - YES, a drink. It's been awhile as just about everywhere we were was dry. There was even a little experimentation with hookahs and sheesha. Hmmm - no, I won't tell you who.....TM
