passion is not a "belief," it is a quality. Any qualities that I have that may lead me to a meaningful life are all intrinsically human qualities that have nothing to do with a "god" . And there's nothing wrong with me being an existentialist. I am very much a humanist as well. My brief comments about religion may have been misleading - while I think religion is an interesting phenomenon, I also have a passionate advocate for the science, logic, and reason that explains such things and offers a much higher understanding. I could go into so many biological and anthropological studies about the nature of the human mind and it's connection to the inclination toward religion/paranormal explanation, or into philosophical debates about humanity , my thoughts on the superiority of Buddhist logic, or my thinking that religion is most often an insult to the human intellect... but it's too much..and I won't risk an online argument about such a complicated issue. :-) Read Human Universals by Donald E. Brown, though. And also the book Religion Explained. Excellent stuff.

cute baby girl : ) I am more a combination of buddhist/atheist/agnostic/shintoist passion in writing doesn't require belief in god ;-)
