I started DJ'ing in the mid eighties by way of the whole hiphop and breakdancing craze that was taking place then. My friend and neighbour from across the street Shawn (DJ BASS) had a mixer and 1 turntable and I had records & another turntable so we started getting together and playing music at little parties on the army base in El Paso, Texas where we lived at the time. Back then we used to mix with belt driven tables, a radioshack mixer and we even mixed in tapes if we needed to. My how times have changed! As time went on my taste in music kept evolving and I began taking interest in reggae, jazz, punk, industrial and new wave. Living on an army base when I was growing up was great because we met alot of other kids who brought music and mixtapes from all over the world allowing me to hear music from DJ's like RED ALERT from New York, THE WIZARD aka Jeff Mills from Detroit and JULIAN JUMPIN' PEREZ from Chicago. When I was old enough I began to frequent nightclubs with my friends and soon began DJ'ing in those very clubs. Then came the raves and techno. I was hooked! Clubber for life. These days I am working on actually producing my own tracks and would like to continue DJ'ing everywhere I can.
