hi. my name is derek. i live in oakland. i went to collage at the California College of Arts and Crafts. i graduated and have been working at a restaurant for a year and a half. i just quit. i'm ready to start painting again. my friend derek m and i have a music project called postcoitus. it's an electronic dance music project. we aren't playing any shows until april. i'm working on new music and integrating a bunch of new equipiment. i'm sort of over common venues. i'd like to set up extravagant sets in galleries and perform there instead. i like making videos. and making music and painting and making sculptures. i like playing sports with my friends and drinking games. although i think i drink too much. i like movies. although they are sooo long that i think about the other things i could be doing and my mind wanders sometimes. i like art shows. but i think there are better ways of communicating and i'd like to find them. i'm a poor speller. i don't read ever. it's 4:22 am and i have to go to sleep because i have band practice with another band i'm playing with. the working title is "shredding." it's a silly name. but i really like the guys i'm playing with. it's very fun. goodnight internet.
so. this is a module test. modules. i like them. i usually get them in the form of electronic music equipment. that's what they call the pieces of equipment that you buy to create a little family of happy midi connected devices. modules. ex-8ooo. emax se. reverberator. i wonder how this will appear on my profile. oh. well. it says it will appear on the left side of my profile. and that if i want, i can change where it goes. that is how a module should be. they call the modules that are controlled by other modules "slaves." but i don't treat my modules as such. i merely direct them in what i feel is the best way for them to work together. i cultivate. and modules, unlike people, don't ever let you down. they just sit there waiting for you to turn them on and connect them and then they do exactly what you tell them. and then i thank them. i say "thank you - you cute little ex-8ooo! you are sooo good to me. how did you get so many neat parameters? and how did you get those cute little knobs? well, you just look like that feisty little robot with the blinking red dot don't you. you're my little HAL junior aren’t you."
i denied some requests to be friends already. don't take it personaly.
