Band Haikus May 8
So I've been bored recently and with my short attention span, I've found that writing haikus are the perfect thing to keep me occupied. Here are a few I've written in honor of bands... (You might have to be familiar with some of their stuff to understand the haikus!) I'll keep this updated as I write more of these stupid things.
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Grapes of Wrath & East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Crime and Punishment by Fydor Dostoevsky and The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera
E.E. Cummings, William Blake, Robert Frost, Ovid, Catullus, Walt Whitman
Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Funny Face, Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, Marie Antoinette, Sabrina, Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man, Charade, Rear Window, This Is John, 8 1/2, Band of Outsiders, Breathless, Pickpocket, everything directed by Jean-Luc Godard
good concerts, kiehls products, the refrigerated cages of freshly cut flowers, pretty things, dilapidated warehouses lining the edges of train tracks, walking up staircases in floor length dresses, red wine and chandeliers.
You've heard of Throbbing Gristle! Ha! Awesome. I just got back from seeing Bande A Part on the big screen. Lovely stuff. I hate Arthur. Such a jerk. Franz reminds me of myself. Kinda.

Why thank you! Criterion is releasing "Breathless" Soon, so I'm going to pick that up when it's released. Oh, my favorite rocker is doing an accoustic show in your area soon. Should be good, but I can't go. Rats.

Even more Bizzare. My co-worker went to Bonaroo, Darn him, without me. And my recommendation for this week is "Le Samouri". One of my top favorite films. The ultimate french Film Noir. With Alain Delon looking dreamy. Says my sister. I'm straight, so I wouldn't know. Ha.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!

OMG! You went to Bonaroo?!! Did you stay up late and watch David Lynch's "Blue Velvet"?

That is Bizarre. Well, I'll keep the recommendations coming, seeing as I'm stuck in a Super 8 in Delaware for most of the summer, working at a landfill. Yuck. But it pays crazy good money, and for this poor working class hero, that is worth it. I just can't wait till August when I can go to college, read great books, and think great thoughts. It's sooo boring here. So I'll loot the local blockbuster of all their good selections. Hope they don't run out. But you never know, what with things crowding their shelves like, "National Lampoon's Run Out Of Ideas, Let's Just Make Softcore!" So maybe I'll check out those things that Tarantino is always recommending, like "Nightmare On Elmstreet." But I'll start with "Amelie."

Just finished Bande A Part. T'was quite good. Although I still prefer Melville over Godard. "A Big, One Hundred Million Dollar Film"

Hi! You have good taste in things (of course we all know how important that is). We unfortunately don't have any definite plans of being in MA, but you never know! maybe someday. Thanks for being our friend!

Seen any good movies or films lately? Are you as stoked as I am for the Blade Runner Final Cut?
