The eccentric electronic music project Carya Amara was started in 1980 but only really started appearing to a general audience in 1999. Since then, there have been gigs and CD releases, with more overdue but being prepared. Carya Amara's music ranges from the genuinely experimental through noise to electronic pop, and has been variously described as "challenging", "pioneering", "disturbing", "hilarious" and (the best of the lot) "downright unlistenable".
