John Maatman and Carlijn Kriekaard founded their design compagny in Amsterdam in the year 2001. 'We knew exactly what we wanted, but didn't had a clou where to start' says Maatman. 'As always, at certain moment we stopped talking and started to act. Four days and nights of non stop working later, Bear, Bunny and Office were there'.

A matter of soul
How different the characters of Bear and Bunny may be, one thing they have in common; where others end up, lay back, relax and take a cold glass of beer, Bear and Bunny make one more step to push themselves over the edge. They want to suprise themselves and their clients with what's possible within the concept of their designs. It's just a matter of soul you know.

Are you a bear or a bunny? This is were it all started... The world is made up of just two kind of people:bears and bunnies.
"Bears will look after you, they are much more interested in you than in themselves. They just want you to be happy, like they are" .
"Bunnies on the other hand are a different breed, they are always running around. They don't want to miss anything. They always think that someone else is having a better time.But they have so much fun." However, this is the reason why a bunny needs a bear to come home to...
So does a bear ever needs another bear?
"Well, sometimes bears get fed up with having to take all the responsibility. Having another bear around the house takes some ot the stress away."
As for bunny-pairing? "That happens too. But it is a fast-burn relationship." Bunnies get together when they haven't found their bear yet.
