audiotrop is a synergy-gaining fusion of three Cologne-based labels: Satori Hype Records, Paranoise Records and Drittland Records. the lowest common denominator of our efforts is experimental electronica, whilst not denying our roots in pop (of one or the other kind).
we aim for what we call "lucid music": sound is more relevant than notes, organization of sounds is what music constitutes. we devote ourselves to the production and promotion of music that makes for lucid listening, an experience that is to hearing what lucid dreaming is to the projections during our REM sleep every night. it's never enough, we are never content, always striving for more and better aural lucidity...
audiotrop came to life in August 2007 with the release of the first in a series of full length compilation CDs:
