What's Up

Hello, we are called A. Star. We are for better things. We like and make art and music, and things like that. We mostly live in northern Utah.

We are currently releasing short run hand made CD-R's of psychedelic, noise, folk, rock, avant -garde, and just whatever is sounding good.

BRAND NEW is a new A. Star sampler available for free!! We have yet to make these things in real life, but for now you can download all the songs riight hear! Once we have finished making them, you can pick one up around the salt lake valley, or if you order something it will be free with purchase! They will feature artwork done by Potter Press! Exclusive tracks from Stag Hare & Hew Mun! Cool!

Trying to get this page really up and running and lots of music are about to be released Sep 13

I'm trying to get this virb page going, so it's still missing a lot of information, but basically speaking we have a whole bunch of albums we're getting ready to release. for the first time they are gonna be in large enough numbers (100-200 at least) that we will have enough to distribute. The main albums we are gearing up to have released by the end of this year are these:
Hew Mun - Scintillated Garble : this album has been years in the making. It is technically, I believe, the first album to be released by Matthew Munn under the "Hew Mun" name. Although it sounds similar to old material, this album really is a whole world unto itself. It is filled with exciting textural descriptions and cross weaving bizzarre soundlines, almost childlike and nightmarish, a sort of profound gibberish of sound.
Stag Hare - Ahspen this is really a re-release of the album which was already released in super small quantity on American West Freedom Society Press. It will have new artwork drawn beautifully by Californian artist Jeramiah Conte. The album is one single 41 minute track. It is a flowing minimalistic soundline with encompassing vibrational tones, lots of hand drums, some bells, thumb piano, delay, reverb, floating in the pollen dust playing in the aura of a living aspen tree, which is where the perspective of the album takes place.
I'm going to write more about all the albums created so far and being created, but for now I'm gonna stop here, why? because, well, I have to pee really really bad and I don't wanna leave my computer here, and I know once I get up I'm not gonna sit down for at least a little while.
