I like to tell people that your life is little more than a sit-com. If you edit all the funny and exciting parts of your day down, you'll end up with a 28 minute sit-com. Think that way and all the shit bits of your life and the stress of love and work don't seem so bad. A guy named Simon Goodchild once said that to me on a coffee break at the record shop, and even then a remember thinking just how much of a US sit-com moment that was.
My number one band is Depeche Mode (Black celebration is my favorite album). As for music taste its wide, me and Zoe were buying 80's pop and indie when we were in short trousers! At the moment however the one band who get the most cover on my ipod at the moment are 'The Sounds' (they're a little Blonde and a little Elastica with a splash of Ladytron, i love the new album).
Media, design, advertising and all the related elements. I love to travel, but have had to slow that down, now that time and money is short. As i've said music is a love of mine but i try not to become a 'fan' because that runs the risk of myself loving the band more than the music. Something i've always had a love is cars and motor sport. I don't own a car b, nothing too heavy but the DVLA won't let me drive). But the thing with cars that really love is the design factor the styling the way they work and the way they function in life. Favorite car is the 911 Porsche, if i made a million i'd buy a 1988 Porsche 959 White with white wheels and black leather (£250, 000 if you want to buy me one).
I watch every film at least once, most don't make it to the next stage of me buying the DVD. However the ones that make it get watched over and over again (mainly whilst I work). I've got this thing about the beginnings of films, its my favorite part, it tends to reflect "real" life the most. And that helps me direct the world i live in. I love Kevin Smith, Spike Jonze and Anton Corbijn (music videos and Photography), so many films have help made me a new person, sounds shallow but think about, what do advertisements do?
I read mostly non-fiction books about advertising, graphic design, business, management and many books about the brain and the mind in general. At this moment in time the only books i'm reading at this moment are; Manufactured Pleasures, Crozier.R, Logic & Design in art, science & Mathematics, Barratt. K and Setting up a small business, Hughes. V.
Work, work, work, work and when i've got time work! Of course thats when i'm not sitting on-line filling out Vibe.com web site things! Due to the fact that I enjoy my work so much it's almost a hobby, it helps me relax. Being under pressure helps me live and makes my world go round. Since returning to Uni to do my BA I've had to re-jig my life. But all for the better, i don't earn very much for doing what i love and that is the only bit that hasn't changed. When worked at the record shop i loved it everyday was Funday, but now i'm a Photography and digital media student i'm loving it even more.
