Something a great friend wrote which totally sums up me.
So this is your first impression of me? Here's my mind: I want to be like Jesus, thats really what I strive for. I make many mistakes and learn from each one but when it all boils down I want to be like Jesus. The process in which I do this is by doing all I can, as much as I can to be open to what God wants me to do with the time he's given me.
It's certainly not easy, it flies in the face of everything we're taught and shown by the world around us. But you know what makes it worth it? Love. Its there for me whenever I want it, and the more I take of it, the more I want to take of it and thats perfectly fine because God's Love is not like any Love we have on Earth. It never ends, it never holds a grudge, and keeps no record of when its been wronged. It just pours out of him, and to be poured into is really what I'm here for! Can you fathom that? I was created to be loved.
No wonder I wasn't happy with the world's concept of Love! This Love is the only Love I can trust, it's never failed me. If I could Love like that then I'd be like Jesus, this is my journey in Love.
This is a quote from one of my favourtie books ever written {Rachel's Tears},about the journey of a young girl in deep relationship with JC,who was killed in the columbine tragedy. "I am not going to apologize for speaking the name of Jesus, I am not going to justify my faith to them, and I am not going to hide the light that God has put into me. If I have to sacrifice everything...I will."
