Elsa Papatanasios impassions herself for the early song and in particular for the rich repertory whom the song in the Middle Ages constitutes. She attempts to make revive a music alive, able to move and to transmit an immense inheritance who exceeds the borders.
Parallel to the lessons of song followed to the National Conservatory of Music of Tours (France), she occurs in concert within sets of Early Music: the consort Ensemble Absalon or the band Alienor Voices, this last receiving a criticism in the French magazine Classica-Repertory and 9/10 for the disc Lumen (recorded in 2002). She obtains also a professional licence in musicology specialized in "the Trades of the Lyric art and the Sung Theatre".
At the time of many concerts of song of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, she revisits the first Western polyphonies, the mystical song of Hildegard von Bingen or the music florentine at the court of Médicis... In addition her light lyric soprano voice enables her to approach the lyric recitals, contemporary creations in particular those of Manolo Gonzalez: for example Apocalypse (2001) an oratorio-jazz, Oracle (2005) cantata for soloists, chorus, ancient instruments, Stabat Mater (2005) sequence for soprano with the trio Delta Percussion, Nymphs (2006) on an anthem in old Greek, Ibérica (2007) cantata for soprano solo, choir of children and percussions... In February 2007, she is illustrated in the contemporary repertory operatic with the Czech opera Memnon or the Human Wisdom of Vojt?ch Saudek, by playing the role of the Spirit, in a setting in scene of Philippe Godefroid. This opera was then represented in the Czech Center of Paris in March 2007. She looks further into various vocal styles, of the Byzantine song to the interpretation of the Lied while passing by the song baroque. Moreover, she sings cantatas, French and Italian operatic arias in concerts of music baroque accompanied with the harpsichord, traverso and viola da gamba.
She occurs in many demonstrations, the such international festival Vratislava Cantans of Wroclaw (Poland), the festival of Sacred music of Ligugé, the festival of the Keyboards in Poitou, Musical Thursdays of the Romance Churches in Country Royannais, Voix Publique, les Nuits Romanes, Eclat de Voix...
